A Promise Fulfilled

Although the day looked dark and bleak,
The light was shining on the meek,
Those with wounded hearts were healed,
Surrounded by His love, revealed,
The grief that bound was lifted high,
Surrendered to the Lord most high,
The bones that ached, were soothed at last,
As we surrendered all the past,
He gave us eyes to see anew,
The paths He chose He chose for you,
He gave Himself to make the way,
For you to have a better day,
He poured His love, His precious blood,
Redeemed us from the filth and mud,
Anointed by His loving hand,
He brought us to the promised land,
Our sufferings and hurts He took,
Our names He added to the book,
You go! proclaim because He died,
All our sins He took inside,
He broke the chains and set us free,
No more years of captivity,
The same words spoken as world begun,
Assure adoption as His son,
Fear and torment have no place,
As we rejoice in all His grace,
Bound together from above,
A Church that's growing through His love.
